Winter Solstice E-Gathering: Yin Rites of Dark Matter
Sunday, December 20, 2026
from 6–8 PM PDT*
Live-stream with recording
The winter solstice marks the year's most complete dark, older and vaster than the Wiccan Yule celebrations built around it. This darkness, read by both Daoists and astrophysicists, is anything but empty. What Daoists call xiantian yin and physics calls dark matter is the same, Yin is the majority of the universe's mass, invisible yet present everywhere, confirmed by decades of converging evidence.
What happens at this Winter Solstice gathering?
In this two-hour live-stream gathering, we'll sit with what Daoist cosmology named over two thousand years ago, xiantian Yin, the primordial Yin before her contact with Yang. Astrophysics is only now arriving at the same understanding, termed dark matter, confirmed by recent decades of converging evidence and still never directly seen. But what are the implications of xiantian Yin? Mimi Young, occultist and psychic medium presents Daoist principles and facilitates writing, discussion, and ritual.
What to expect for this Winter Solstice gathering:
The real science of Yin, now termed dark matter in astrophysics, with reference to The Bullet Cluster, the clearest existing evidence that dark matter is a separate, invisible substance rather than a trick of gravity
Daoist wu, the classical case for emptiness as capacity, and how it differs from the way Western thought treats the not-visible and non-being
Xiantian Yin: Yin before it differentiates into relation with Yang
Guided writing practice, working directly with a set of original principles of Yin and dark matter
Discussion around relating with xiantian Yin as a practitioner, along with its limitations since Yin fundamentally does not and cannot answer back
Emotionally, you’ll likely feel validated as an infinitesimal complex being, a descendant of Yin.
Spiritually, you'll likely leave with a wider sensing of the uncovered, the concealed, the unaddressed.
This is an optional prequel to the 8-part occult series, WRONG: Yin Rites as Heretic, Villain and Perverse.

This event is priced per person. Upon purchasing your ticket, a Zoom link will be emailed to you. Within 24 hours after the live-stream event, an email containing a download link will be sent to you. If you wish to keep the recording, kindly download the contents of the link within 48 hours.
BC will stay on Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7) through the winter instead of returning to Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8).
If your location also shifts its clocks back on that date, the number of hours between your time and BC's time will not be the same as it's been in the past. How much it changes, and in which direction, depends on your time zone. If you're in the Pacific time zone (Los Angeles, Seattle) and shift back as usual, BC will be an hour ahead of you where before you shared the same time. If you're in the Eastern time zone (Toronto, New York), BC will be two hours behind you instead of three.
