Wrong:
Yin Rites as Heretic, Villain & Perverse
An 8-Part Series of Creative Writing, Rites, Craft, and Media Study
8 weeks starting Monday, January 18, 2027
“Mimi Young believes there’s a powerful creative current running through us… Learn how to tap into that energy.”
WRONG is an eight-week interdisciplinary investigation into the shapes of accusation, mapping Yin through her most contested appearances.
The series treats each charge as an infinitesimal complex of dispositions rather than a single verdict: heresy, villainy, revenge, bane, poison, perversion, schadenfreude, and evil, traced alongside the actual instruments culture built to enact them, trial record and curse tablet, poison garden and courtroom transcript, evil-eye amulet and the neuroscience of the reward circuit that lights up at another's ruin.
WRONG doesn't argue the charge was wrong. A verdict, confirmed or denied, only repeats the court's original question. What the series supplies instead is the spiritual understanding behind each charge, so heresy, villainy, revenge, bane, poison, perversion, schadenfreude, and evil stop functioning as private diagnoses and start functioning inherited technique, identity reclaiming, myth making, and magical technologies.
No acquittal offered, consider your wrongness your power.
BLACK HOLES BIRTHING STARS IS TAOIST-ROOTED WRITING
How does Taoism impact the world today? Opposites, like the poles of the Earth, aren’t adversaries; they coexist, naturally providing the necessary magnetism for our planet’s function. In Taoist philosophy, this duality isn’t about opposition but about how different elements support the entirety.
It’s a different perspective from the Western notion of opposition. The Western mindset often gravitates towards creating adversaries, constructing a dichotomy where one side is exalted and the other vilified—a narrative that elevates one’s standing by belittling the other. Or put it another way, it’s a mechanism to self-justify the horrors of extractive mechanisms. It’s a distortion, reflecting exceptionalism and colonist thinking, and a refusal to acknowledge the interdependence of all elements. This view of conflict-based duality will only produce more conflict.
In Taoism, it’s about acknowledging differences while contributing to the collective whole. Each part, though distinct, is essential for the existence of the other—a beautiful and symbiotic relationship.
Part of this recorded creative writing series re-imagines what polarity could look like without cancelling the other, and in fact, suspending the view of ‘other’, and bringing them home as kin. The light of the Yang and the shade of the Yin offer a magnetism that allows Earth to be Earth. Lore suggests that Yin was once used to refer to the shady side of a mountain, and Yang to the sunny side of the same mountain. It’s either co-existing or no one exists at all.
In this way, Taoist philosophy has real-world impact. Yin Yang principles lay down necessary foundations for decolonized perspectives and a return to diversity in a fuller sense, where each has a role within the whole.
Black Holes Birthing Stars creative writing series explores these notions in how we think, how we imagine, how we show up as human beings, and more importantly, as human becomings.
