A Samhain Séance: Scrying the Dark Stream with Hexagram 29 of the I Ching

Near Samhain, when the veil thins and the dead draw near, we enter Hexagram 29: The Abysmal, the dark, chthonic stream of the I Ching. This hexagram, water doubled ☵ ☵, is the current of descent, danger, and initiation, teaching us how to move with fear and death as regenerative forces.
In this two-hour Samhain ritual gathering, we’ll explore necromancy, water scrying, and divination with the I Ching, weaving them together as practices for honouring and communing with the dead. Through scrying with water, trigram casting, shared reflection, and mini readings provided by occultist and psychic medium, Mimi Young, we’ll practice “walking the Abysmal” with sincerity and courage.

Materials to have available:
Candle + fireproof holder
Paper + pen/pencil
Dark coloured bowl or chalice of water for scrying
Cleansing plant (rosemary, mugwort, or Ceremonie’s Sacred Plants Mist)
Offering for the spirits (plus a small portion for yourself)
