SKIN CARING: Your Skin is Your Largest Psychic Organ

Taiwanese Canadian animist spirit medium looks at the camera, her skin radiant and alive, and relating to her psychic skills.

Caring for our skin improves our intuition. One way is nourishing Yin and minimizing Yang.

Did you know that caring for your skin also enhances your intuition and psychic senses? This is because skin is our largest psychic antennae. Our skin is always taking in information - some obvious, some more subtle or hidden. If you look to ancient and folk traditions, spas, baths, herbs, and caring for our skin have always been linked to connecting with Source and the more-than-human.

Going forward, expect a new section in my monthly newsletters, SKIN CARING: YOUR SKIN IS YOUR LARGEST PSYCHIC ORGAN. I will be sharing a principle, a tip, a resource, a how-to, or some other doable, tangible ritual you can incorporate (literally to take into your body) into your daily or weekly skin caring regimen.

While many out there may extensively discuss skin care on a physical level, I am interested in how the physical mirrors the spiritual-psychic planes. When applicable, I might also share a Ceremonie product that could support your skin caring.

This particularly article relates to Skin Caring in the context of Nourishing Yin, Minimizing Yang

Yin describes actions that are slow, calm, easeful, restful, and renewing. Relating to our skin, dryness, flare ups, and other reactive skin expressions occurs when there is an over-abundance of yang in our bodies, which is common if we are over-active, eat too much heating foods or foods that are harder on the system to digest.

What too much Yang looks like:

  • Emotionally: easily frustrated, flustered, or impatient

  • Physically: feeling hot, restless, needing to keep busy, fatigue and exhaustion, flare ups in skin

  • Psychically: overly sensitive to others' energies, unsure if you're sensing your energies or someone else's, feeling intuitively ‘clogged’ or dull.

Skin Caring to invite more Yin:

  • Facial Pressure Points: These not only calm the skin, but also promote renewal - gently with medium firmness, massage above the eyebrows, between the eyebrows (third eye), temples, and 1 cm on either side of your nostrils.

  • Foods: add these to your diet - cucumber, celery, pear, lotus seed and root, Chinese yam, astragalus simmered broth, white wood ear mushroom, and Tea, particularly green and puer teas.

  • Topically: Yarrow balances energy and helps set energetic boundaries, Carrot Seed promotes cellular regeneration (a Yin function). Ceremonie's The Ritual Complete Elixir contains both plants. Or explore my entire ceremonial SKIN CARE collection and AURA CARE collection. Skincare is a natural way to build in ritual magick daily.

Feeling giddy about this new section of my newsletter! April’s issue will be out Friday!
