On the continued discussion of how to have psychic abilities: Witchcraft and spirit work is about being intimate with what's real

How would you define an occultist or witch?

The task of the witch is to collaborate on the process of shaping yourself and reality. To continuously make and remake yourself as an act of pleasure and honesty.

To be a witch makes you in essence also an artist, one who creates and re-creates, one who is aware they have the freedom to determine their own identity, to make their own image.

In this way, witchcraft creates the divine.

A group of 30+ witches and creatives across the globe just finished the live-stream of Black Holes Birthing Stars (now available as an on-demand series). We approached writing as a medium for spellcasting, relating with sounds, words, and language animistically. We worked directly with the Unseen.

Leaning into the wisdom of the Wood Element, as well as the incoming Fire Element according to the Daoist principles of the Wu Xing (Five Elements), we not only related with energies as they are through our writing, but we became the energies.

Witchcraft and spirit work is about being intimate with what's real.

It does not surprise me that each of the 8 sessions brought about tangible parallels, emergences, and changes in our own lives outside of the writing practice. And in fact, there is not separation between magick and mundane, writing and otherwise.

Black Holes Birthing Stars and Ugly Words are two ritual-based online creative writing workshop series that are also so much more than just about writing.

Following the spirits,
