Tea Thoughts While On A Mountain
By considering alternatives, my “truths” can be suspended—even for a moment—so that new portals can open. The Universe does not want to work with a know-it-all. Spells, though are approached with some degree of knowledge, mostly work because there’s sufficient space for air and negative space to exist to fan the flames of magick.
I delight in knowing that if I told my younger self who I am now, what I’m doing now, she likely wouldn’t believe me.
DO PLANTS FEEL THE SAME?
No matter how often we are told we are loved, it’s still possible to forget it. I wonder if plants ever feel the same. I confess my love for them, again, as sweetly as the first time. I think the Tea in my cup today blushes. The Ferns, too.
Following the plants,
SIMPLE MOON RITUALS FOR POWERFUL ENERGETIC SHIFTS: IN COLLABORATION WITH GOOP
I return to goop, and was interviewed about Moon rituals that highlights principles of Yin, Yang, and Daoism (the philosophy that birthed the Five Elements and Chinese Zodiac) in general. The idea is to slow right down, get tactile, and relate differently than you typically would.
WHAT ARE SIGILS?
Traditionally speaking, sigils are a form of magick that holds the energy that is accessed through a specific intent and ritual. Sigils are often created by combining letters, symbols, shapes into an abstract design that is charged with energy of the desire. Common purposes include protection, peace in a home, recovery and healing, success on a project, and so forth.
NATURAL LAWS FOR INTUITION
1. Intuition require spaciousness and an unrushed pace to be the most authentic and reliable.
2. Rest and play fuel and sustain intuition.
3. Curiosity, receptivity and non-judgment to associations, signs, symbols (dreams, omens, synchronicities, correspondences) develop fluency.
DO SPIRITS CHANGE?
This morning, during my visit to the Inner Spirit Temple (an inner, spirit space where members of the Homing Coven can seek solace, meditate, and do group work), I was met by a few spirit beings I learn from and work with closely. One of the beings, Fire, along with a few plant allies, said to me, 'We change, too, you know."
DOES INTUITION CHANGE AS WE AGE?
Even the most seasoned intuitive, psychic, witch, healer, or spirit worker experience plateaus or deep winter seasons from time to time. The idea here is not to force our work into perpetual springs, as every phase of a cycle can be opportunities for engagement with the Seen and Unseen, to deepen our spiritual practice, to return to foundational lessons and skills, to renew our sense of humility and commitment to our craft.
MIST IN DAOISM
In Daoism (Taoism), mist (and fog) is often used as a metaphor for the Unknown, the Hidden, or Mystery. Mist as a symbol of the hidden forces of nature, the secrets of life, and the elusive nature of the Dao (Tao) itself.
YEAR OF THE WATER RABBIT FORECASTS (2023)
Sooner or later, as we grow older, we eventually come to appreciate that no news is good news. As we near the end of the Water Tiger year, and prepare to welcome (with relief) the Water Rabbit, we can finally find a quiet spot in the corner, experience reprieve, and reimagine what life can be like.
ABOUT SPIRIT COMMUNICATION
We start off with one question / area of exploration, though that doesn’t mean you only receive one message from the spirit guides. The one question is simply to get the ball rolling, and as with the spokes of a wheel, this first spoke connects to the greater wheel, and integrates many other concerns as well. Oftentimes the wheel of your life is too grand, overwhelming, or even distracting to take in at once, and hence the first question functions as the catalyst to facilitate the movement of energy from serving the spirit to fulfilling the spirit.
THINGS ABOUT ME YOU MAYBE DIDN’T KNOW, AND OTHER RANDOM WITCH THINGS
In my early twenties, I lived in an all-pink apartment. Everything was one shade of pink or another, including the kitchen counters, back splash, bathroom vanity, bathtub, and tiles. Pink was not my first choice or honestly, any choice. But the rent was cheap(ish), and it was close to art school and work.
Plants For The Witches New Year
There are plants who settle, who calm, who awaken, who invigorate, who quench, who stir, who help recall, who help inspire...
Why I don't want to empower you
I don't want to empower you.
I want to help you understand I already see your power; your inherent power that cannot be learned or earned, your power that simply is.
ENOUGH TO TIDE ME OVER: Psychic Mediumship with Digital Spirits
As all children, my world was shaped by my reality and surroundings. We spent time outdoors in the nearby forest or playground with the neighbourhood kids, travelled in packs on our bikes with walkie talkies that only operated within fairly close range, but on a rainy day or when the days grew dark early, we spent time at home with the “real toys” and make shift ones.
WALK WITH ME
Walk with me.
The apprentices within my Mystery Mentorship program are not students, and I am not their teacher. Rather, when an apprentice signs up to walk with me each Sunday, week in and week out through a single module or all 5 that spans over a year, we are stepping into an ancient commitment of personal alchemy.
SMELLS LIKE TEEN GOSSIP
I smell things. Some describe this as extra-sensory scent, clairolfaction or clairolfactance. Others simply call it psychic smelling. My first time was when I was in junior high. A “mean girl” spread some rumour about me (eye roll — I was talking to her boyfriend — correction— her boyfriend was talking to me), and she claimed the rumour was started by someone else. It was the usual adolescent cocktail of hormones, drama, 'territory', and insecurities. The scapegoated girl denied the words, but didn’t want to point fingers either because it meant her own reputation was liable, and in high schools, reputation is everything.
PLANT SPIRIT MEDICINE SPOTLIGHT: WOMB SUPPORT
I work with common plants. The ones that you can consume often, find around on the side of the road, on lawns and other nearby areas. I hold great regard for entheogens, but my allies are usually quiet and unassuming. A few are listed here, today being plants that support the Womb (energetically and physically):
SENSING IN THE DARK
This Mercury Rx that has asked us to turn inwards, to swim in murkiness, to let uncertainty take the lead, to lose not in the sense of not winning, but losing in the sense of surrendering to ending cycles and embracing conditions of re-membering, redirection, and re-creation. This work is not just for Autumn and Winter. In fact, for me, this type of inner work often takes place during the Summer. Seasons aren't fixed and our internal landscapes do not just hold one archetype at a time. We can be Maiden, Mother, Wise Woman of varying degrees, of varying expressions, at varying times. Yes, we can enter internal rites of passages and initiations, but embodying archetypes need not be linear. They almost always demand incubation periods that involve some form of loss and surrender.
WHAT IS A HOME?
What is a HOME?
Well, I would say it’s not about the walls, the square footage, the furniture, the styling, the neighbourhood, the property value.
A home is about the warmth that is found there. Home is acceptance. And nourishment. And affection. And a place of allowing. Home is where you can create beautiful memories in solitude and with others. A place where you can let yourself completely fall apart because there are loving arms to catch you. Home is also where a celebration is held for you because you’re you. A home is a place where you can manifest the expansion of your heart by making space for others. HOME is heart.
