MAGICK WORDS
It’s no secret that magic words can cast strong spells, but why?
"Not only are magical texts among the oldest surviving pieces of literature, but many scholars and anthropologists suggest that it was the need to record spells and divination results that stimulated the very birth of writing."
—Judika Illes
A single word is a conscious, focused attempt to communicate with another. A desire to be heard and in relation with. When one strings a word with another word, and yet another, is a form of power; in many ways, a sentence is an early form of spellwork.
This means that though candles, crystals, herbs, flowers, perfume, chalices, wands, body fluids, under the Sun or the Moon, are all tools of magick, so are words.
If you have words in you, then you can cast spells. Change what isn't working. Grow what is. No single government, corporation, or billionaire space ship owning bro can own your words or have a monopoly on them.
In my animist practice, and extended in my witches’ coven, the Homing Coven, words not only REFER to energy that course through all things (living beings, colours, planetary bodies, money - which are very much all conscious and alive)), words ARE energy. Work with the words directly as living beings, which are both the bridge to and the literal Unseen, where words and the silence of space between them, are part of the spells we can cast.
But there's something else, here. Because energy can be drained or misaligned, words can, too. My upcoming BLACK HOLES BIRTHING STARS is a creative and magick writing series that works directly with words and the Wood Element according to Taoist philosophy, to realign and renew.
Word allies welcome us to make kin and ritualize the themes of change, emergence, the release of duality, courage, and the imaginal. Reconnect with your Source, reclaim the freedom to relate with the tangible and intangible, reshape your narratives, and lean into intuition to chart new paths.
We start March 25 and gather for 8 sessions. Recordings available.
Sliding scale tuition. Partial Scholarships also available.
Aligned with the principles of inclusion and decolonization, accessibility is at the core of my teaching. Ceremonie’s Partial Scholarship, a metaphysical scholarship, provides financial aid for participation in long-form offerings such as Homing Coven, and self-studies like Mystery Mentorship and Ugly Words, and now the Black Holes Birthing Stars series. This commitment remains steadfast, even as I navigate the demands of everyday life, including providing for my family.
