WRITING WITH SPIRIT WINTER RETREAT

January 21-24, 2022

WRITING WITH SPIRIT WINTER RETREAT
January 21-24, 2022

4 days, 3 nights of anchoring, nurturance and lucidity while surrounded by the magickal wintry forest on the ancestral and unceded territory of Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island, BC, Canada).

Words are portals. Words take us places that do not yet exist, and can also return us to sites that need reconciling. Words spoken aloud or silently within allows us to witness our spirit, and reconnect with the spirits around us; they are the wands in every spell. When we approach communication as a vital and embodied expression of being human, we have the capacity to freely relate with the Seen and Unseen. The words that come to us can then be written down as a way to devote to our special place within the weaving of Life.

The Writing With Spirit Retreat welcomes an intimate group of 13 attendees to explore the intersection of writing and the supernatural by unwrapping the words that are already contained within and to call them forth with clarity and boldness. We’ll discuss supportive writing techniques, powerful esoteric tools, and will be actively collaborating with our intuition and the Great Mystery. Open to anyone who is needing space, desires a heightened embodiment, and a safe container to focus on their inner (and outer) work. All sessions are optional, so you can choose to receive transmissions in the Writing With Spirit group sessions or simply relish in quiet solo writing time.

The Writing With Spirit Retreat is for those who love writing, for those who do not love writing, for those who are feeling receptive or connected, for those who are feeling unsure or blocked, for those who doubtful or intimidated, for those who are curious and optimistic, for those who are rooted in, for those who are hanging on by a thread, for those who rest with ease, for those who are restless.

Step into collaboration with the energy of the Winter as we begin to attune ourselves to the emergence of Spring, a way for us to hear our soul and envision our place within the various energetic weavings of ancestry, gifts, purpose, and time and space for the 2022 year. Set on Bowen Island, BC, we will also be leaning into the wisdom of the land spirits, while we are inspired by the surrounding natural, winter magnificence.

YOUR FACILITATOR

YOUR FACILITATOR

Mimi Young is a Taiwanese Canadian Wu shamanic occultist, writer, and founder of Ceremonie, an esoteric brand that aims to impart extensive ancient and practical wisdom so you can restore your connection to the Unseen within your inner and outerworlds, actively receive the support of your spirit allies, break negative patterns, and celebrate your path with confidence.

Writing has always been a medium for Mimi to engage in magick of all forms, whether it’s for inner healing and pattern releasing, materializing dreams of her heart, for encouraging herself to stretch or transform, or for showing up as a parent. Mimi’s writing has been described as emotive, deeply coherent, and having the capacity to capture the Unseen in splendorous ways.

Her various works in written word can be found on her blog (and shopceremonie.com in general), her monthly digital magazine, UNSEEN, on IG, and various written / copy editing contributions in the emerging music and DEI spaces.

PRAISE FOR MIMI

“Mimi is a true teacher in that she is not here to just repeat her own knowledge; she does the more difficult work of guiding her students to make discoveries for themselves. [She offers] an incredibly comprehensive and flexible course that can help you rediscover magical living in a way that is nourishing, grounded, and responsible.”

Ethan Hardy

"Mimi has an incredible gift for creating space for that which needs to be translated. The combination of shamanic work and art therapy allows for a gentle, open and creative channel to explore deeper messages and connect with allies. This work is both provocative and profound."

Natalie Edwards

“I left the retreat more confident in myself, more in tune with my heart and truly open to a different way of living. There are no words that can describe my appreciation for working with Mimi... This work is not for the faint of heart for it truly opens you up to a magical whole hearted life- and you'll never want to go back to the old way. So if you're ready to come home to yourself, to shake things up- why not follow Mimi down the rabbit hole and explore Wonderland for yourself?”

Emily Williams

“The way you teach, however, gives life to what are often conveyed as concepts. You have a way of returning their power and voice to them.”

Charlene Chang
